Usually an eloquent person has an extensive vocabulary, a good memory for appropriate quotes, and a grasp of grammar. It describes a beautiful way of communicating in speech, writing, or both. It means to explain a concept or an answer in a more detailed way.Įloquent (pronounced “ell-oh-kwihnt”) is an adjective. It can also describe something complicated or intricate that likely took a lot of time to create.Įlaborate (spelled the same as above, but pronounced “ee-lab-orr-ATE”) is a verb. It describes something very decorative and detailed in its appearance. They don’t help you out, but they do make you laugh.Įlaborate (pronounced “ee-LAB-uh-ruht”) is an adjective. It’s suggesting what word you may want to save time, but quite often, its suggestions are pretty off base. If you used words that are all spelled correctly, it gives you a pass anyway.Īutocorrect suggests words that start with the same letters. ![]() It doesn’t know and can’t guess what word you wanted, or what word you meant, it can only judge the words on the page. Spell-check is looking for words that aren’t in its dictionary, and words that resemble words in its dictionary, but are possibly spelled wrong.
